Yet another way to decorate your garden
There are 2 different types of bird box. The round hole is suitable for most small garden birds and the large square opening is for robins.
We often get asked about the size of the hole in our bird boxes. The RSPB recommend different size holes for different types of birds. We used to use a 38mm hole which accommodates all kind of bird but we have reduced it to 32mm to attract the more common variety of birds we see in our gardens. As you can see from the list below 32mm is large enough for a wide variety. Good luck!!
- 25 mm for blue, coal and marsh tits
- 28 mm for great tits, tree sparrows and pied flycatchers
- 32 mm for house sparrows and nuthatches
A terracotta painted pot just like all our others but with a twist.
All filled with bird food and ready to hang in your garden.
As an added bonus you can refill them with suet balls every time they get empty.
Keep feeding the birds!!
